Last updated: 29 September 2026
This policy explains how Johnny's Pool Services ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
- Business
- Johnny's Pool Services
- Service area
- Cape Town and the Western Cape, South Africa
- Phone
- 061 765 8479
- johnvdbergmsp@gmail.com
The owner of the business is our Information Officer under POPIA. Contact them using the details above about anything in this policy.
What we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us, such as:
- your name, phone number and email address
- your address or suburb, so we can visit the pool
- details and photos of your pool or equipment
- billing details when we invoice you for work
How the quote form works
The quote form on this website does not store or send anything to us by itself. When you press "Send on WhatsApp" or "Send by email", it opens your own WhatsApp or email app with a message already written. Nothing reaches us unless you send that message yourself.
Why we use it
- to reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
- to arrange site visits and carry out the work
- to send invoices and keep records we are required to keep by law
- to contact you about follow-up or regular pool care you have asked for
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not send marketing unless you ask for it.
Who we share it with
We only share your information when we need to do the job or the law requires it. The services we use to talk to you, such as WhatsApp (Meta) and our email provider (Google), process messages under their own privacy policies.
This website, cookies and third parties
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. To load, your browser fetches files from these providers, which may record your IP address and browser details in their standard server logs:
- GitHub Pages, which hosts the website
- Google Fonts, which supplies the typeface
- jsDelivr, which supplies the 3D graphics library
Links to Facebook, WhatsApp and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages only as long as we need them to deal with your request. Records of work and invoices are kept for as long as tax and other laws require, usually five years, and then deleted.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, including keeping it on password-protected devices and accounts and only sharing it when needed.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct or delete it
- object to us using it
- withdraw consent you have given
Contact us using the details above and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
